Kanagaki Robun (仮名垣 魯文) was the pen name of Nozaki Bunzō (野崎 文蔵) (1829–1894), a Japanese author and journalist. He was originally known for light fiction in the gesaku genre, and together with Kawanabe Kyosai created Japan's first manga magazine, Eshinbun nipponchi (Illustrated News). He he was also the first author to publish theater reviews in a newspaper. He was the author of most of Kabuki Shinpo Magazines. Kabuki Shinpo No 117-2 (1881) and No.498 (1/4/1885) both contain kites |
